"contained, contented."
At our market stall, we dedicate corners stocking pantry goods, curated cans and bottles alongside house roasted coffee beans. The selection is petite, always changing. The slow days we get to spend the way we want is a dream. The clean and herby one, the comforting and tender one, the bright and zesty one. All these take a pantry that's stocked.
Last week, we had an iced black made from the instant sachet. While taking in each sip with amazement, of how it actually tastes like an ICED black, our mind is hit with something else. Flavour preservation is pretty life changing, isn’t it. Think bottled jam, canned cockles and we ever saw tinned milk pudding in an Australian deli. What we taste is actually a ‘time’, an instant where the freshness is sealed and flavours locked, to be relived later on.
Over the “contained, contented” weekend at market stall, we have lined up some tasting rounds joined by friends to embrace these wonders a little further. A session of savouring Fossa Provisions' canned seafood sourced from Japan. We are grateful for Jay and Charis coming down to make it happen. It feels like having really intimate friends coming to the house. Each can is paired with light bites they thoughtfully curated. We hope you come with an open mind and leave with new perspectives on canned goods. One thing for sure, it’s umami filled.
Then, Travis, The EVOO Gatherer is sharing with us a few bottles sourced from Olive Groves Sg. He will be guiding us on simple assessment of extra virgin olive oil with refreshment served alongside to make sure each one shines. Most likely some fresh produce from the market. We reckon it’s a casual enough setting to appreciate complexity captured in these bottles and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Each session is capped at 8 pax and freshly made coffee will be served before or after. We humbly ask for your advanced understanding that this is a wet market setting and our first time hosting get-together of this sort. It’s not air conditioned and whiff of fresh fish or meat might be caught. If you don’t mind, please register via links in bio.

On that same Saturday, free sampling of our instant coffee, a limited 3-Kenyan bundle of washed, yellow honey and natural will be available for walk-ins. We somehow have a thing with Kenyans recently. Perhaps we need you to give a third party view!
We are excited to see you.
