welcome, new blend, to end 2026 on a sweet and sentimental note.

We spent a short but sweet five days in Australia a while back. Very good change of pace and that week was a very timely reset very much needed. Perth was great and the ‘nothing much there’ was exactly what we went for. We wanted a break. Though, Busselton says the other wise. Seemingly slow but oozing with so much calmness, easiness and naturally less angst and rush. We arrived at The Goose for a late lunch after a decent drive from Perth CBD on the second day. The BLUE in front of us was so gorgeous and we were smiling so wide without realising. Fish and chips, seafood chowder, sound of waves, laid back people around and the smell in the air altogether put us in airplane mode. Literally a safe harbour where our system got rebooted. Busselton, where we never mind the blue.

Back to hawker (more accurately hazy) hustle these days, we are so absorbed into everyday rhythm filled with chasing and being chased. When friends from Issho labo invited us to pop over at their 3rd Moriawase Market, it’s like a saving grace pulling us out of WORKING WORK mode. Selfishly for our sanity. Sincerely because they are celebrating 3 years of crafting crafts in their very own creative space, we just want to catch up with the issho labo fam on this special day. Chill, have some coffee, talk about the things we have been missing out on all these months. So much like finally meeting that pal since last year. The relief is that this same person that shows up exudes the same zest and energy.

Made up of 3 washed coffees from Ethiopia, Kenya and Guatemala, Busselton Blue is for the slow days, causal talks and a birthday gift to Issho Labo. Orange and cream cracker on the nose. That’s childhood. Mint candy and bitter almond follows and adds layers. Comforting sweetness of red dates and sugarcane rounds up the mouthfeel. Dried apricot and pineapple in the lingering ends the cup on a nice juicy note. A very wholesome blend we have made to cherish the precious camaraderie subtly built since the first market they have invited us to be part of. Slightly sentimental as the taste profile is almost reminiscent of change in life phases. Tangy and refreshing from the excitement, all sweet when hard work pays off, bitter ish at times as this is real life but of course, we always move on as it is just part of the nostalgia to look back to.
